I remember the day Ciaran ( CF Meister) called me telling me about the Death Grips album Ex Military. It was so god damn raw I loved it instantly.

He proposed working on a mix tape using this as an inspirational jumping off point. In the end it turned out to be quite different but Death Grips was the spark that started the Mick E. fire. A fire that was fueled with drugs and alcohol.

Most of the beats were produced and lyrics written in a week keeping things rough around the edges. I remember we recorded most of it in one day in Ciaran's garden shed. Train sounds going buy, sirens, dogs barking and roosters. Listen close and you may hear just some of these things.

About Mick E… he was the next phase of my metamorphosis. After the clouds of the Bastard had cleared the sun started pouring in with rays of possibility. Though it was by no means the end it was an important part of the journey.

In a sentence, Mick's Tape represents me seeking love and enlightenment in all the wrong places, and by that I mean everything outside of my self.

We only ever played one gig as Mick E. Rawrk which I remember well because afterwards, in the true spirit of Micke E, I did LSD for the first time which funnily enough played a role in the inspiration of some of the tracks on the Mick E. Rawrk release A.N.F.S.C.D.
